The My Perspectiva Story
My Perspectiva is the online home of me, Worcestershire-based rambler Matt Wall, as you’ll know doubt already know if you’re hearing this. But it isn’t my first web venture as many who know me will attest to. Indeed, a series of ‘Matt Wall Online’ websites, either so named or under different headings have been up on the Internet for the past six years.
The first was a website hosted by American company Maxpages. With professional wrestling my main interest at the time, I and my friend Adam created TPWW - The Professional Wrestling Website. I believe it is still active under the same address: www.maxpages.com/tpww - though the site bears no resemblance to the one we made.
Since then, I’ve tried my hand, one at a time, at creating other websites to find my true online home. There were personal websites, all about myself and those around me featuring articles and poetry which was also a favourite pastime of mine at that time. Later on I created KHFC 4-Life, in around 2003/04 which was a tribute to Kidderminster Harriers Football Club. After all, before they paid my wages, I helped pay theirs as a Season Ticket holder and I still consider myself more of a fan than a member of staff.
This one proved quite popular but with the club not the biggest, The Official Kidderminster Harriers website would always take the traffic from the market I was trying to attract which is fair enough, and I’m bound to say that now seeing as though I run that, too, though in a professional capacity.
Many people were upset when that once ceased to exist and it’s really since then that I’ve been trying to find a website to replace it, not in terms of a football one but just something online that I could cut my teeth into in my spare time.
Then, I discovered the art of Blogging - or Blogger.com to be precise, and back in May 26, 2006 I started up my own blog. It was just what I wanted. My own space to write how I wanted to anyone who cared to read! But, when I really started to enjoy it, I began to think about the possibility of making something more out of it, and after finding Krissy, a freelance Web genius from the US, we have what you see here today, My Perspectiva.Com. Quite literally, it’s my perspective on things.
She designed it and set me on my way and ever since I’ve helped it grow with added features, effects and articles, it’s no longer just a blog. Along with the freelance writing I do on other websites and the advertising you see on MP, I’m also starting to make a little money out of what I do best: writing. Not a fortune, and nothing close to an amount that will help me pay the bills, but it’s a few pounds to make me even more proud of my hobby.
In July 2008 after a successful first couple of years, My Perspectiva got a complete re-design, again Krissy’s handywork.
So there you go; that’s the story. This is My Perspectiva.com - I’ve got an opinion, and everyone is entitled to it!
