You know, I have to feel for Jade Goody a little.

She’s been lambasted and criticised by most of the public for her entire ‘career’, pretty much just because she isn’t the brightest of sparks.

People seem to be revelling in her downfall – why? Because she’s a bit of a loudmouth? Because she’s a bit dim and not the most self-aware? Is that really anywhere near good enough a reason for some people to  be nearly rejoicing in the fact that she’s about to die? It’s disgusting.

She may very well be one of the modern-day reality TV made ‘starts’ that do irritate – but let’s look at some facts. She’s made money, invested it very well and has raised and is secure in a stable family. How many of your perfect celebrities have got that? Not too many.

She’s saved up enough dough to see her two kids through private schooling til the age of 18 – NOT cheap, and you have to commend her for the dignity with which she’s living out her final months. Is it a bit sad that she’s doing it in front of the tabloids? Well maybe so, but as she’s admitted herself – she’s done that almost 24 hours a day for all of her adult life, why stop now?

I just pity for her poor family and hopes that she does get her wish to marry her man in the next two weeks as is the plan. Perhaps people could spew their bile in the direction of some of the morons out there who actually deserve it?
