Their Loss!

Football never really seems to astound me too much these days; but what the hell is going on at Man City?

Sure, since the New Year, their results have been a bit up and down - and that is up and down, not shit.

But I’m sure there are a lot of City fans that would tell you that under Sven they’ve played some of the best football they’ve seen in recent times. They had a fantastic start to the season, and even after dipping a bit, they can still finish in the top six - give me one City fan who wouldn’t have taken that prior to Sven’s arrival and I’ll show you a liar. And yet it’s being reported today that Sven is due to be sacked at the end of the season.

It’s more than obvious that the problems don’t lie with pressure from supporters; by all accounts they seem to love him there. It’s another case of another foreign businessman coming into English football and trying to pick the team. It just doesn’t work like that. I was no fan of Sven’s towards the end of his England Manager role, and I won’t be two-faced and pretend that I particularly love him now, but he’s doing a fantastic job.

That said - he’ll get another £2.5 Million pay-off… do we just like throwing money at the guy or what? It’ll be a disaster if City get rid of him, and it’ll certainly be their loss.

How The Mighty Fall

And I’m not just talking about the fact that next season will likely see BOTH Peter ‘I once managed England, you know’ Taylor and ex-Aston Villa boss taking charge of teams in NON-LEAGUE football….

No no, this one’s even better. Everyone probably knows that Rob Styles has no business refereeing games in the Premiership - he makes some of the most baffling decisions in some of the country’s biggest games, and yet is still employed. However, there is some good news. They’ve finally bumped him down to his natural level.

Yesterday he took charge of Shrewsbury Town v Chester, a bottom-of-the-table game in League Two.

Maybe some form of natural justice really does operate in the world?

And I Thought I Was Bad With Numbers…

”My Maria”: 84/100? Doubt it…

Talk about getting it all wrong… It seems those lovely folks over at FHM have got things in a bit of a muddle.

In what must obviously be a mistake, they’ve put the lovely Maria BELOW Stacy Keibler in their 2008 World’s 100 Sexiest Woman list. How in the world has that happened? Don’t get me wrong, I used to be a huge fan of Stacy back in the day (right, Adi?) and most famously said ‘Wow, her legs are so long they could wrap around me twice…’ but honestly - she looks like she’s 48 these days rather than 28. Things really can’t have gone down well for her. So to speak.

Maria is slumming it at #84, whilst Stacy is up at #64. Baffling if you ask me. Mind you, they left Chop off the list all together, so perhaps they really do know nothing?

Other rather odd entries include Evangeline ‘More Manly than Frank Bruno’ Lilly, you know, Kate from Lost. How has she got on to the list? I wouldn’t kick her out of bed - I’d boot her out the sodding window, I’m afraid. Rihanna only makes it as high as 14 when she’d certainly belong higher, and yet MEGAN FOX is #1?? Try 101.

Insane.

Mission Impossible….

Word has it from US TV that Becks has said he and Posh are, to quote ‘working on’ making a new baby.

Crikey, that’s gotta take some work. Perhaps a paper bag over the head would help, Becks?

”Money” Makes the Money…

My latest article on Helium.com is a review of the match between The Big Show and Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather at WrestleMania 24, which I actually really enjoyed.

Click here to read it… it’s pretty good I reckon.
