Ladies and Gentlemen, this is KNUT the Polar Bear - and yes, I was very careful about how I typed that.

He lives at a Zoo in Berlin and, understandably, people are going crazy about him. He likes to play and is curious and clumsy and everything you’d want in an adorable young Polar Bear. Yeah, okay, not as normal as your Andrex puppy for example but he’s still pretty cute.

Children have clamoured for him; singing ‘We Want Knut’ (Adi once told me a rumour to the effect that Craig Hinton was once seen out chanting something of a very similar nature!) - TV crews have swooped to get a look at him and he’s the hottest ticket in town.

But - animal rights campaigners have said that because Knut is dependant on humans and not his own kind, he should be killed. How very rude.

We Want Knut!

On Fumes…

owall.jpg I haven’t got a lot left, boys and girls, some would say I’m running on fumes at the moment. It’s taken most of my energy to pick up the phone 500 times in the past fortnight and say ‘No, No News Yet’ in gradually-decreasing levels of politeness. But hey, Stevenage can do it all better apparently so why even bother ringing us? Trot off to Hertfordshire and come along with them if you like, we’ve still got day jobs to do.

Anyway - Just thought I’d share the above with you. Tiny is looking exceptionally smart (and hot) for a special afternoon back at her old school recently - she took this just for me especially but it’d be rude to not show the rest of you seeing as though she looks so nice!

More rambles over the weekend, no doubt. Just wanted to let you know I’m still alive - just!

I’m Back - And They Ain’t No Saints!

Posted by Matt on March 26, 2007 | Share It

Apologies about the lack of updates lately, in the bizarre way that my life works, I’ve had a spell during which I’ve not been very busy with work (comparatively not busy, but still busy none the less) which means I have less time to post, whereas now of course I’ve got another mountain load to get through, the posts return, go figure!

ABCD0010333.jpgAnyway, important I got this one on, as I wanted to twin with a post made by my good pal Adi (http://www.generaladi.co.uk/ - he and Lordy are pictured here…) about Saturday’s trip to St. Albans. Now, as a Harriers’ employee, I’m obviously not able to speak my mind too much for the need to remain professional, but as this site is exclusively mine and so many miles always from being connected with KHFC that it’s untrue, I can say what I like.

What I’d like to say is that I hope St. Albans City are indeed relegated back to where they came from after a one-year stay in the Conference after this horrible, horrible day. It’s a pity, really, because City as a bunch to work with couldn’t be nicer. Their photographer helped me out massively this weekend and their staff are brilliant, their website in terms of content is probably the best in the division. It’s just a shame their team, match day staff and supporters let the side down.

Darlington hosted Hartlepool on Sunday in a game that was watched by more than 10,000 people. As this is a fierce North East derby game, you’d half expect the bit of trouble that followed come the end of the match, but what reason can you give for not policing a game between Kidderminster and St. Albans, teams who’ve played each other twice in their entire histories, that was watched by 850 folks? Absolutely none, I can tell you that.

I’ve never feared for my safety at a game before but I did at this one. And why? A group of 20 or so ChavTeens decided to spit, swear and throw stones? How ridiculous has the world become? Surely after these antics action will have to be taken.

Awful day.

And I’m full of snot, too. Lovely! Welcome back all.

Disappointing stuff in one of the regional rags tonight reports that Matty Lewis was attacked in Coventry and has had his cheekbone smashed, such is life in this day and age I suppose; I’m becoming more disillusioned with society every day now.

As sad as the article is to read though, and I do sincerely wish Matt all the best, the article does state that he ‘made his name and Kidderminster Harriers’ which is debatable. More to do with a poor article rather than Matty’s abilities to be fair though, because as of writing it also states that last Monday was his ‘34rd’ Birthday. Hmm. Grown up fast, then. Rd?

Walkies!

Nice photo I think, Tiny and I took ourselves up to the Forest for a bit of a stroll - thanks to a marathon around Sainsbury’s later in the day I managed to clock up over a mile, but my dodgy knees are feeling it now!

My aim is to do the same Forest route next time in under 40 minutes, as the last one eventually probably took about 50 - I think I can do it! Probably because we’re £60 p/m better off this way, but nevermind!
