Busy Bees

Posted by Matt on December 30, 2006 | Share It

Well how busy is it all getting on the football front eh? Three games inside a week and all of a sudden Christmas has come and gone and the New Year is already practically here, how fantastically depressing that is.

The good thing is though, those Premiership buggers are being made to play three in a week too - it’s about time those highly overpaid muscles were given some overtime to deal with.

The biggest injustice lately seems to be that ManYoo are on course to win back that Mickey Mouse league championship from Chelsea and on current form they probably deserve it - and that’s me saying that - even Ronaldo is playing well, though I’d still love to wedge him between two brick walls and have birds fly over and crap on him.
Other random questions to come from the latest round of Prem fixtures are:

- Does Mark Hughes EVER stop moaning?

- Why does every manager have big black bags under their eyes? Surely not the stress of more than one domestic game in a week?

- Does Arsene really still think his team of little boys are still in with a chance of winning the league?

Anyway - it isn’t all Premiership - Oh no. The tiny one and I have been out and about again. I’ve been navigating again you know, and would’ve got us to Stafford ten minutes earlier had my driver actually listened to what I told her!! Anyhow; two awful places, two sets of very miserable, unwelcoming sets of home supporters who have obviously been starved of any semblance of football lately.

We, however, are feasting on it. I know it may not last, but we must make hay while the sun shines, right?

Besides, for those of you keeping score, I may very well have a to post a picture of some underpants soon…

Happy New Year!

Yes, I know, I find myself once again apologizing for a lack of updates; I can only again plead for forgiveness given that it’s been a horrible working week, and Christmas, too, which is usually just as horrible.

To be honest, I’d felt so bad for putting so much effort into keeping this thing going (and spent enough money to get it up and running!) and just not having the time to update it at certain periods that I’d considered shutting it all down.

Then I remembered how the select loyal few who enjoyed my previous sites were sad to see them go, and that perked me up a bit and gave me some motivation. More so, to be honest though, was the fact that I logged into my stats area this morning to see how many people I’m subjecting to my madness, and I was very pleasantly surprised - there are people coming, and they’re coming back!

stats1.jpgWhat does puzzle me, though, is this league table of my visitor’s nationalities. More disconcerting than the fact that I’ve had almost 700 hits since myperspectiva.com opened in August from ‘unknown’ parts of the world is the fact that more people from Sweden visit me than people from my own country - thanks, guys!

Other more boring assorted stats seem to tell me that most of you like to visit at 6/7pm (UK time, presumably), September 2006 was the busiest month for the site and that more people visit on a Thursday than any other day. Bored to death yet? Excellent!

This should wake you up. You’ll see there is an ‘MP Search’ facility available on this website, and people have been using it. Below are some of the most commonly-entered search terms. See if you can guess which one was probably from my good friend Adi.

Matt Gadsby (RIP) - 14%
My Perspectiva - 3.8%
Kevin Craswell (Wake up, there’s a train coming!) - 3.7%
Nelly Furtado - 3.2%
Philippa Forrester - 1.8%
French Maid (Okay!) - 1.6%

Delightful - it’s a shame though that there’s a sick fucker out there for every 100 or so of you charming visitors, whoever searched for ‘matt gadsby death video’, I really hope someday you get your comeuppance.

Anyway, sorry to end on such a distasteful note - Merry Christmas, everybody. Hopefully 2007 will be an even better year here, providing I can find something better to write about!!!

Whilst I await the arrival of the new Hard-Fi as well amuse myself with a reminder of the last one.

Burglar.jpg CNN in America reports that a man attempting to rob the house of a man away on vacation was caught - by the owner himself, who watched the whole thing on a live feed from his laptop.

Now, I’m very proud to be British. It means I like tea, I love to queue and make small talk about the weather, but you have to say, living in Germany (as this guy does) must be good. This really proves that as well as housing some of the stupidest people alive (that’s not a slur on the Country, just the stupid Germans I’m aware of, so don’t get all heavy on me) they also have some of the most legendary.

The chap watched the criminal trawling through his belongings and alerted the police, telling him where in the house he was and the like, as you would.

The police busted their man as he was stood trying on the homeowner’s clothes; heaven forbid you steal something that may not fit!!

Wake-Up Call for Kevin Craswell…

Posted by Matt on December 15, 2006 | Share It

This one is a real belter. Some way, some how, a man managed to collapse from too much booze and fall asleep - on a railway track. What a legend.

From seeing pictures it actually looks like he’s got himself a comfy little spot, so relaxed as he was. What’s amused me most, however, is that the only charge to be brought against the man is being ‘an obstruction’ on the railway line. Fantastic.

Also rather amusing are the quotes from people on this story - one man said: “it was truly remarkable that he wasn’t struck by a train or fatally electrocuted.” Oh really? Bear in mind, a British Transport Policeman said that.

His little nap cost the train service some £8,000 in delays and diversions - why not make him pay it?

Another policeman commented that it highlights the dangers of being so drunk near a live railway. As opposed to any of the two on their own, of course.

Booze is the Answer!

I’ve got me some new chums, I have. I’ve found another place - apart from with Tiny and inside my own mind - that I can be extremely silly without fear of ridicule.

Welcome one and all to MetaChat, the home of the… creative, shall we say.

So far, I’ve started a mass debate (ha!) on what everyone thinks is the song their most embarrassed to admit they like, which almost got me ‘tarred and feathered!’ - as well as getting a lot of suggestions on how to get myself in the festive spirit.

As you’d expect, booze is close to the top of the list of ideas, but there’s some great ones there. Come on over (once you’ve finished reading all the content on my lovely home, of course!) and join in!

Likewise, I’d like to welcome the MetaChat crew to my bloggy world. It is pretty much a self-promoting ego-trip, but I think I’m a sexy beast and worth promoting! Hehe!

What’s more, I actually got excited about Christmas for the first time this year about ten minutes ago.
